What factors affect the moisture content of my powder?
The following factors can have an impact on the moisture content of your powder: The relative humidity of your region, where you store your powder, the frequency with which you open the jugs, how long you leave the powder in your trickler system.
How long does it take for powder to stabilize?
In the experiments we've run, small quantities of powder stabilized within 48 hours. Larger quantities and greater differences from the target humidity level will require more time. Keeping the jug sealed with a CAP Lite will help it to stabilize faster.
Will you make a CAP Lite for other jug sizes or brands?
If there is enough demand for the current models of CAP Lite, then we will definitely reinvest and support more sizes.
Can I use a desiccant with the CAP Lite?
No. Desiccant packs can remove too much water content from your powder, causing it to burn hotter than expected which can lead to unsafe conditions.
Is the CAP Lite safe to use with my powder?
The CAP Lite is made from inert materials that do not off-gas. The seal is silicone rubber. The hanger is HDPE plastic, the same material that powder jugs are made from. The two-way humidity packs from Boveda only emit pure water and are no less safe than the air your powder is exposed to.
